Just wondering....

Just wondering why some people like to list out all the options that you can possibily have in your car? Is it just a way of saying "My car is better than your car!"??

For example,

Silver C32, xenon/command/v60/teleaid/moon roof/power windows/ power locks/floor mats (black w/ AMG logo)/arm rest/front sun shade/rear sun shade/remote lock and unluck/remote trunk release/trunk/2 front doors/2 rear doors/dimming mirror/2 front airbags/2 side airbags/head curtains/seat belts/power seat/seat memory/climate control/traction control/speed shift/tinted windows/air conditioning/AMG double spoke wheels/first aid kit/hood release/rain sensor wipers/fog light/brake lights/reverse light/license plate holder/leather/exhaust/spark plugs/fuel cap/dip stick/windshield fluid/kompressor badges/amg badges/hood ornement

I know we all love our cars and all but.... any way, I was just wondering....

IMO, it actually helps a lot - to know what model and options this particular person has, when discussing certain issues which may be totally irrelevant or, vice versa, may only apply to "your" car, etc.

It helps to know what modifications they have done, too.

I never regard this kind of info as "bragging"... well, unless they make the text occupy half of the page and shine like a christmas tree...

It's bragging among your peers. After all, who ELSE if anyone I know would CARE what my car has (other than it's 'nice') but a fellow of similar-minded MB enthusiasts?

I find the listings to be helpful at times; a lot of people will post answers based on what they think they know... it's nice to see that the guy commenting on a feature of a certain package actually has a car with that option package on it!

What I don't like is pictures and animation in the signatures... those can play hell on those of us with dial up connections...

What the???

I swear I only hit the "submit" button once, but it did take a long time for anything to happen.
Hmm... good thing there's a "delete" option!

I can understand mods.. those are not standard on the car. I can see why some would put in option packages, what I really don't understand is ones who put standard features which every car has.

I have actually seen people with

"Power Seats and Memory"
"Auto Up/Down windows"
"Remote entry"

etc.

But I guess like Flash said, perhaps its bragging rights among friends who knew each other...

oh well..
