Upgraded to a 2005+ front SAM & lost Automatic rain sensor & Automatic headlights
Hello everyone.....
This question is mainly directed to those of you with a pre 2005 w203 that up graded to the 2005+ front SAM.
I had the new front sam installed to support automatic folding mirrors. I was wondering if you guys that did this upgrade also lost the function of your automatic headlights and automatic rain sensors??
For the headlights-- when the switch is turned to the automatic-- the lights ALWAYS stay on.
For the automatic wiper- when the switch is turned to the automatic position (position one) -- the wipers always stay on at the low intermittent speed.
Had the car at the dealer and they said because I upgraded to the new front SAM i lost the function of automatic on both. Dealer said that the 2005 front SAM looks for 2 different input signals from 2 different sensors (rain/daylight) in order to make the automatic lights/wipers work were in the pre-face lift cars there was only 1 sensor for both.
Anyways..... any input from you guys that had did this mod on your pre-face lifted c class would be awesome.
