Barely rates as a complaint, c240 acceleration
I have owned my 01 C240 since new. I want to see if I can crowd-source a solution here. It hardly rates as a problem in the grand scheme of things. When I accelerate slowly my car does not accelerate smoothly. It's not horribly jerky, but it's just not the same as a few years ago.... If I hit it hard, it accelerates fine. I have 170k, wires and plugs changed 60k ago w/ oem parts, MAF is Bosch with about 25k on it. Coil pacs origonal. Just replaced the fuel pump, the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors (all Bosch). No cel, no codes.
The only reason I bring this up is that slow acceleration is useful in city driving and the morning commute...It accelerates all right, it just doesn't accelerate Mercedes smooth anymore. BTW, stick shift.
It has been driving like this for a couple of years, I must be missing something basic...

+1,... exactly.
Search for ECU Reset, Throttle Reset, Adaptive Transmission Reset,....
Basically, you drive like a little old lady,... well, not your fault,... but you're constantly stuck in rush-hour gridlock congestion traffic,... so the adaptive transmission of your Mercedes adjust to that style of driving,... for lack of a better word. Anyways,... the reset which you can do by yourself,... Remember to have the car in PARK! ;P the reset will get the adaptive transmission shift pattern back to original factory specs. Depending on how much you drive,... you'll probably have to do the reset every month or two,... basically whenever you start feeling like you're driving like a little old lady!
EDIT: Oops,.... just reread your post,... your car is manual shift,.... so the reset probably wouldn't work for you,.... Hmmmm,... so the only advice I can really offer is,.... Stop Driving Like A Little Old Lady ;P
Maybe you have carbon buildup,... try Chevron Techron

Guys. Please note that this is a MT car. So no TCU here.
Firstly ~ does the engine, stutter, stumble, misfire etc at low throttle input or is it more of a mechanical problem like clutch shudder? Bad O2 sensors can cause engine stumble.
If more mechanical it could be soft engine & transmission mountings, clutch ******, Propshaft flex discs or center bearing.

with 170k i would assume the motor and trans mount are probably worn out. I'm at 106k and fixing to replace them just for reassurance and with a stiffer suspension they're probably given a good working on so far.
