05 C230 Timing Chain Tensioner setting procedure
Guys, I am changing the timing chain tensioner in my 05 C230. I know how to remove and replace, I am looking for guidance on setting the tension properly.
Do I need to soak the tensioner prior to installing?
If anyone can help please do.

Ask Hogger. He's just done the job. I've never done it on a M271. I know you screw in the new tensioner still collapsed. It auto releases. Then you hold one cam with a wrench while you apply a 70Nm pull on the crank bolt with a torque wrench with the engine in a specific position & that sets the tensioner. This is from memory. I don't have the WIS procedure for M271 only the 6 cylinder models.
