turn signal in mirror 05 230K Coupe
Hi Guys I hope you can help me. I get a message in my dash telling me there is a turn signal not working. (mirror passenger side). The turn signal is working fine although sometimes I get the fast click noise for a second before it returns to the normal click noise. I wonder if this is simply a bad connection.
Do I have to remove the mirror? Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

It's a common issue. You can buy some electrical cleaner and spray the harness to clean it up also sometimes the wires get crimped so the harness needs to be replaced or you can get a whole new mirror blinker

Thanks Phister. This only happens infrequently. I wonder if there is a loose connection at the led lights. Is it difficult to remove the mirror casing? There is a post on removing the mirror but I believe it is for the pre 2005 model year. Any advice would be helpful.

Easily done.
You don't need the special tool this guy makes, but an extra hand helps.

The turn signal come out with the housing and is held in with a couple screws if I recall correctly.
Clean the contacts with a pencil eraser on both sides.

Thanks for your help. The pdf is fantastic and i'm gonna fix this myself. Going to Myrtle Beach next week and maybe buy the part there if I can save a few bucks.

Too **** to wait for Myrtle so I made a tool and looked inside the mirror housing. The wiring harness was pinched by the spring. So I freed it up and voila...problem solved.
