new '04 C 230k sedan
We just took delivery of our C this past weekend, sorry for the lousy pic, I will take better pics this weekend.
The car is C 230 Kompressor sedan:
Black Opal / Charcoal (premium leather)
5 spd auto
(317) confort package
(319) lighting package
(324) Sunroof package
(325) Rear seat package
CD changer
Standard Radio (until October whe command gets installed by steve)
We love the car, and it feels very tight on the road. My wife is having a blast.

The BMW is mine, 5 spd manual, lots of fun. Still good for another 3 years!

Back to the C. I love the color (black opal), I don't see many C's with this color, is there a reason?

Does Black Opal still carry the $1100 "special order" charge? That might be one reason you don't see it often. I considered it, but settled on Capri Blue.

No, I did not pay extra, just the regular $670 for metalic paint. I did not realize the charged extra before! Capri was my second choice, I originally ordered pewter, but when I saw it in person it did not look anything like the internet pic.

Yeah, I guess they change the special order colors from time to time. Also, gotta see them in person! I was torn between Capri and a couple of other colors. I got lucky when I visited my dealer one day and saw about 6 different color C's next to each other. Actually, I've seen Pewter on a couple of sedans and coupes and I liked it. At least it's different from the "sea of silver" I see everywhere

Nice car as i am planning to get one also. I should know by end of the next week. If you don't mind asking can i ask what you paid for the car? How much off MRSP and such. If you don't mind that is.

I was able to get this car at invoice from Cutter Motors in Santa Barbara (I live in the bay area), it was no hassle, the best experience total cost of the car (minus tax&lic) 34500, OTD 37500 (w/tax, lic, etc) 3.99% apr / 60 months only financed 30k paid cash for the rest ($550/month payment). If you are interested I recommend speaking to Jeff Morgan, and SB is a nice place to take delivery.

Last I knew the special order charge applied to certain colors on standard sedans and wagons. The sport models do not carry the charge. This could've changed for the 04 model year.
I have black opal on my ML, and love it. It has long been my favorite MB color. Would've had it on my C, but didn't want two cars the same color. What's the fun in that!
