Mb intakes are almost perfect. Many use k&n out green filters as replacements but sometimes the oil messes up tire maf

I would stay with the excellent OE filters.

I'd say live a little and drop in a K&N.

At worst, you will not pick up any hp (though my buttdyno definitely felt something, maybe a couple of ponies). As far as the oil, I had that issue with my green filter, which fell apart on me (wouldn't recommend them, obviously). But have had no issues with my K&N for a long time now. Probably need to clean it and relube it actually - as soon as my other car's roadworthy, I'll do that.

just an FYI an new MAF costs around $130-$165 approx.......and you cannot celan it or revie it......

so your choice.....risk it with the K&N or just stay OEM...

I have at least 200k miles on my K&N filter and its the same MAF. Yes, you can clean the MAF with CRC spray. I clean my MAF every oil change and I lightly and I mean lightly oil my filter.

Heck, I have about 4 of these filters. I'll sell anyone a new cleaned and oiled 2002 Coupe K&N for ehhh $20 smacks plus shipping.

Stick with a clean OEM filter. The K&N does nothing for these cars. I have tried over and over. Not worth it. Save your money and keep a clean OEM filter.

Used a K&N in my C230 for about two years and went back to OEM a few months ago. My MPG had declined over time (about 21 MPG avg). I replaced the the filter with OE grade (purchased a Mann - same thing MB uses), cleaned the MAF and fixed a tear in the intake tube and my mileage improved 2-3 MPG. Hard to say if it was one issue or a combination but I don't plan to go back to the K&N oiled filter. It's sitting in the original box if anyone wants a used filter.

C200K. I have an KN filter that has the same size, and replaces the original one in the airfilter housing. If i felt any more Power after the replacement it was probably my imagination.., i did it because i was going to chip the engine. I have had it for 40.000km (app.25.000 miles), i have cleaned it and re-oiled it and have not had any problems With the MAF.

The trouble with K&N filters is that unless you maintain them very well with frequent re-oiling they don't actually filter very well. It does not take much dirt to screw up an engine.
