Thanks guys! here is another shot of the front wheels showing the brake clearance or should I say lack of. This is the first set of AG wheels m220 on the w203 C class. Wheels are originally 57.1 CB but had them bored out before they shipped them out to me.

Might be crazy but might be cool!

You guys might think I'm crazy but I have an idea and I don't know if someone has done it or not. I love my c300 I am stock stock rite now. I am wondering if someone has ever lifted the c300 1"-2"? My idea is (call me crazy if you want) to lift car with the suspension and put some "knobbyer" snow tires on it and really use my all wheel drive in the winter. I'm am outdoors guy and want to throw a roof rack on some black wheels knobby tires and a light bar like a bad *** rally Benz! Call me crazy or not.

This is my first post so hope to get some feedback! I put this in this thread based on stance and wheel and tire inquiry...

I am new to the MB world, I've owned bmw's, subarus, miatas, you name it. This is my first mercedes. I love it, wish it was faster, but I decided to make it look nice. I bought it stock with 60k miles, and so far 10k miles later it's been a great car. Thanks everyone on here and for this thread. It really helped me a lot while choosing the right parts for my car.

Sick idea You might want to create a separate thread on that, maybe with some photoshopped pictures, to get people started.
It seems like you just need longer springs for the lift.
The drawback is probably the changed angles of the driveshafts which may cause accelerated wear, but we are only talking 1'' lift, so it may be minor.

C320 Wagon
Hi all...

I'm new to this forum & MB in general. I've owned several 240SX, several Miata, and a number of Infiniti & Lexus vehicles.

I have a question regarding the use of spacers. It seems like everyone here is running spacers.

Other than for those w/ big brakes, are the spacers a necessity or just for getting the right look (flushness of wheel to fender)?

I'm thinking of running 18x9 wheels that come with a 40mm offset...running 225/40 tires all around. I will be lowering the car on most likely coilovers (if not trying out air for the first time). Will I run into any suspension clearance issues if I don't run spacers?

And if I DO run spacers, how about the clearance on the fender?

PS - I have a 2002 C320 Wagon (if that makes any difference)

Any help / tips / suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Aloha from Hawaii

I don't think you would need spacers, unless you want the wheels to stick out a bit more. I would install the suspension and wheels, then decide if you want spacers.

And Aloha. I am from big island.

ELEKTRON...aloha & mahalo! I just ordered some coilovers today. Gonna just ride the stock tires 'til its time to replace, then we'll see about the rims. I talked myself into the coilover purchase since the stock shocks are blown (117k miles, I think they're original)...LOL

CL203

I've got a C230K Coupe and all of the coilover kits I find are for W203.. Is there a difference between the CL203 and W203 when it comes to buying coilovers?

As far as coil over kits are concerned I am pretty shore they are the same. What you do have to pay attention to is the spring rates for the front and rear. I think phister runs 8000k in the front and 10k in the rear. With that being said, I would stick with kits designed specifically for the w203. I use ksport which people in the euro crowd don't think are that good but I have had no problems.

I was looking at BC coilovers the BR ones. They're W203 only it says but I'm pretty sure everyone outside of the Benz world has no idea that CL203's (as a chassis code, not the actual car) even exist..

Do this. As soon as possible haha it would look amazing! I'd be worried about ride quality, though.

When i said they are the same, I meant as in most parts are interchangeable between the cl203 and w203 platform. So the BC kit for the w203 would work for your car.

What wheel and tire setup are you thinking about running?

Especially if it has the panorama roof, the weight distribution is different between the CL203 and the W203. So any setup designed for the W203 without custom spring rate availability won't be optimally designed for the CL203, though I can't imagine the difference would be too noticeable. But that's why I recommended to him to talk to Fortune - custom rates are a no-cost option, and helper springs for the rear are available

Yeah mine has the panoramic sunroof. Ohhhh okay I totally understand now. I'm gonna try to talk to Chris today. Thanks, as always, Tommy, haha.

I'm thinking about 17"x9 wheels or something like that with maybe like 215/40/17 tires.

Judging by a quick search and reading of some reviews, sounds like you get what you pay for, and your ride will really suffer.

But if you're accepting of their limitations...
