Thoughts on H&R coilovers?
Thoughts on H&R coilovers?
A friend works at an auto parts store and he can get me H&R coilovers for $700 new.
I just want to check with you guys and see what your experiences are with them before pulling the trigger.
Thanks

I'd grab them.. and I'd ask you to hook me up with a set for myself as well but they don't have anything for my car.
Find out the price he can hook you up with on the bilstein PSS9 kit part number 48-088602. If they are about the same in price they may be the better route to go. But they may just be the same stuff just re-branded. I thought the bilstein's used H&R springs on their coil overs. If thats the case H&R may be using a bilstein strut.
Hey and nice to see a fellow New Englander around here. Let me know if you want to hit up a meet / cruise or two.. there are quite a few groups around here.

good street coilovers, they can drop the car pretty low. good build quality not too rough of a ride from what members say. I just dont like the non adjustable dampening but H&R designed it to be comfortable for street use
That's a great price. Pull the trigger. I have them on my wagon, and they go low. My rear is tucked and the front is at the wheel well arch, and I still have adjustment to go lower.
Ride is what you would expect from coilovers, and they handle great--it's fun to stick with a 3 series sedan in the corners while the driver is going WTF---a station wagon??

I try to go to all meets around here but unfortunately most of them are a long ways off as I live on the cape. But yeah, definitely let me know man. I'm just getting into tuning now, looking to do some big things to my car in the near future. Fu**ing sexy car you got there btw.
can someone post a picture of a w203 with the H&R all down?? I have the same problem, dont want to spend lots of money and then find that it's not lowered enough
I think they lower up to 70mm's..I'm not sure of what is 70mm's on a w203........

In a little late on the subject . . . but going to post anyway . . . The H&R's have a nice feel. If you plan on keeping a stock tire size on 17" or jumping up to an 18" rim you will be happy with how low they go.
I'm disappointed with my new wheel setup that the front doesn't go lower.

I currently own H&R coilovers and i cant complain besides the fact that i cant adjust the dampening everything is very satisfying. If youre just looking tio go low then youll be more than happy with the drop. Theyre nice and stiff to my liking and have had no problems what so ever. Id say go for it, if not look at BC coilovers as well.
