Replacement Struts?
Just outta curiousity.. I just changed my sway bar today. The clunking noise is gone. My dad was driving with me and he said that at 60K miles on my vehicle that its time to do the struts? I do notice the vehicle does go over bumps more harshly lately but keep in mind this is NY. I did a visual inspection of the stuts and there is no leaking. Has anyone just changed there struts in there vehicle just because of mileage? And if you did.. did you notice a huge change?

It all depends on road conditions and style of driving imho. If it feels like there is no rebound from the struts/shocks it might be time to replace or you feel it bottoming out as they say. Changing out to new ones is going to change the feel of the car since it'll feel more stable going over bumps and around corners.

At 111K on my 07 C230, my struts are getting to the point of me wanting to replace them. No leaks either, but they just are not dampening as quickly as I would like. Most people wouldn't care or notice, but I am sensitive to these things. The roads here in the NW are terrible, and really hard on dampers. With that said, I would think at your mileage, you would still have some useful life left in them.

The harshness going over bumps could be related to the tires ... so if you have old tires I would maybe consider replacing those first to see if it fixes the problems you are feeling.
I replaced my shocks/struts at 95k although they were probably ready for replacement at 70-80k. What finally tipped me off was going over sharp dips in the road, the suspension would close to bottom out ... and with people in the back seat it would bottom out.
Fyi, I replaced with Bilstein TC and the difference is very noticable .. much firmer and sportier, but not harsh. And they are a lot cheaper than the stock Sachs-Boge.
