Mercedes W203 C220 CDI has been struggling to start and EPC fault came up today
This is the first post I have made on a forum, and I was wondering if anyone could help me. Recently my 2002 Mercedes W203 C220 CDI has not been starting when it is warm, and turns over before starting in the cold. Now today I was driving down the road and the EPC fault light came on which bought me to a standstill. I restarted the car where power was restored but I still have the fault in the system.
I do not know if these problems are linked as I have recently had a new fuel filter and glow plugs fitted.
Any help or advice would be great

Thanks,
Mitchell

Have compession checked.
Have fuel pressure checked
What mileage has the car done? Have the injectors been checked for flow & spray pattern?
Only stored code on scanner was for Injector 3 which I had done last month.
I have check compression or fuel pressure how would you check these? The car runs perfectly once it has started.
The car has done 165,000miles. The injectors haven't been checked either.
Which should I try first?
Thanks.

Fuel
Air
Compression
Make sure air filters are clean & that the airbox & air intakes have no leaks
Start with a dry & wet compression test
Then check injectors
If the car produces full performance once running then the fuel pressure is likely OK but check the fuel filter & primary pump at the tank is feeding the HP system properly & the HP pump is providing correct pressure to the injectors.

i have a 270cdi, which had the same problem I replaced injectors (2nd hand),airmass sensor (new) and fuel pressure regulator(2nd hand). the HP pump was refurbished and the pick-up pump (on the engine) was replaced with an electric pump in the tank.
its now 2 months later and ive got the same problem. EPC light comes on when i turn the key and all it does is crank. checked fuel at the injectors with the key on and fuel does come through. but i'm not sure about the pressure when i crank it.
