I swapped cars with my wife last week and a minute later she calls me to say that there is no sound. I figured it was just operator error, but when I checked out the radio yesterday...nothing. It turns on and everything looks normal, but no sound...no AM, no FM, no weather, no nothing. Anyone have any ideas? It is an '02 C320 with Bose.

There's a discussion of the radio going out elsewhere here in the forums, but in short, there is a fuse right in the middle of the block to the left of the steering wheel (where the dash ends at the door jamb) that if you remove it, wait several seconds, and then put it back, it should reset the stereo and give you sound. If that is your problem, of course.
I have to do this little dance about 6 times a year; never really looked into a more permanent solution, since it works every time.

When I bought my car a year ago the sound similarly did not work, with everything seemingly looking fine; we just went ahead and replaced the radio to get additional functions, but during the process we found that there was a fuse in the bose amp itself that was blown, if resetting the fuse in the front SAM as tommy mentioned does not work, I would look at the amp. It is located in the trunk behind the passenger side carpet trim if I remember correctly.
My car has no sound from the radio since new. The sound comes out of the speakers.

Thank you, ladies and germs. Catch Moviela at Funnybones all week.

Thanks for all the input guys...
I got in this morn and it started up as normal, go figure.
But, now the steering wheel adjustment doesn't work (the electrical gremlins in the W203's are ridiculous). It will telescope, but won't go up or down. I here the motor humming when I push the button, but it won't move. Another mystery.

That's another can of worms, there's a plastic link that attaches the motor to the steering column, if it breaks then you'll still hear the motor, but the wheel won't move up and down, I fixed mine awhile ago, it takes ripping pretty far into the dashboard to fix. Here's instructions: https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-ele...e-up-down.html
based on my experience with C class.
Intermittent sound issues could come from Amp going south, slowly but surly. Head unit doing the same. On couple occasions CD changer going bad. Because entire system works in a loop, one of the items in the loop such as the CD changer going bad will render entire system useless.

I guess the steering column fix will be next on my list. It is currently stuck right in my line of sight of the speedo...can't see a thing.
