HELP!! Keyless entry wont open car
I own a 2006 C280, A few months ago I tinted my window and i think this is where my problem started. (Not a 100 % sure it may just be a coincidence) I read a few of the forums stating that the tint may be the issue so i removed the tint (more $$ down the drain) yet that did not help My key only unlocks / locks from the IF on the driver side door. Funny thing is even on the door it takes awhile to open i have changed the batteries on the keys . that did not help.
.. funny thing is it seem to work faster at night when the place is cool ( i live in south florida). I dont know what else to do i was just thinking of doing a after market alarm.. Please advise.. Amberjae
or the sensor on the door
about the tints that's bull****. I have 20% black tint on my car and its fine. I can unlock my car down the block.
after market alarm is a bad thing to do. your car has an alarm already

If your key will open via the IR in the door handle but not at greater range then your RF is down.
This can be caused by.
~ Metallic tints
~ Cut wires by the tinting people where the antenna wires come out of the rear screen
~ Sticky pad dislodged by tinting people at the centre top of the rear screen
~ Antenna amplifier blown by water from applying the tint
~ Bad earth on the antenna amplifier
~ Flat battery in key or sender antenna in key desoldered from the board.
Is the AM reception on your radio bad? It shares the same antenna
Good luck!
