Impossible to heel toe?

I have a 2003 c230 manny, and I can raise the rpms when braking, clutching, and blipping to heel toe. I do, however find it hard to heel toe because of the pedal positions. I read some people having trouble heel toeing because of the limiter coming in when braking and gasing. Does only the 2002 not rev when braking and gasing? Anyone find a way make the pedals easier to heel toe?

There are several reasons why it is difficult. First of all, the pedals are somewhat far apart. I have never been able to blip the throttle with my foot still comfortably on the brake. Second, the gas pedal hinges at the bottom and requires a bit more force if you are pushing on it down low. Third, sometimes you get no gas if you are on the brake. And finally, with the electronic throttle, it takes a rather long blip to get the rpm's to raise significantly.

But, is it harder w/ a 2002 c230 coupe? I have a 2003, and I CAN brake and gas at the same time. I heard others could not because of the limiter. Is it because they have a 2002?

I forget exactly how it works, but there are ways to get the gas and brake to work at the same time, and other times it doesn't. I don't think this was eliminated for 2003.

I find heel and toe in the C320 Coupe to be easy. I have to be a bit aggressive due to the slight lag in throttle responce. I learned to heel and toe old sports cars (very bad pedal placement) by putting my foot on the brake and rotating the ball of my foot over to the throttle.

thanks for the info. It makes me feel more at ease that I'm not the only 2003 out there that can heel toe.

Anyone try to make custom pedal arrangement for easier heel toe?

I also try it by rolling the right side of my foot onto the throttle. But I can't reach it without being on the very edge of the brake. And I don't feel comfortable that way. I almost think it would be easier without the rubber studded pedals, because I have to make sure my foot is on one of the rubber studs, and they don't go to the very edge.

Most cars are designed with the brake and accelerator pedal far apart to avoid people accidentally stepping on the wrong pedal.

If you want to use heel-toe, you'd probably be best off getting some aftermarket pedals which are designed for heel-toe shifting - they will usually have a small extention on the bottom left part of the accelerator pedal, so you won't have to swivel your foot as much to blip the accelerator.
