Well, just bought a new set of tires,
polished the Bix to look like new.
Have new spark plugs, diff oil,
and new air filter, fuel filter, and belts on are on the way.
Got some great deals on part on ebay of all places.
Found a belt to fit the ASP pulley for 6 bucks, and it's a Gates "Green stripe".
Also a Gates other belt, a V something or other. As long as it aint those Good year gator POS's.
So, yup, I guess I'll just keep driving her.
I also have a complete set of new brakes, pads and rotors for the front (Akebono's and I've got 120K miles on 'em so the new set will go to GASP 320K ?), a head gasket set, and a new Thermostat. So...yeah...clicking off the miles, Turning 201K this week probably.
I probably wont waste my money every fixing the head gasket.
Within a year or so I'll get an engine from the pick and pull for $150.

I'll be topping 218000 miles by the end if the week, I finally had to replace something. the vacuum pump started leaking so got that changed out. My gas mileage has gone down a little too, I'm thinking my O2 sensors are probably toasted. Love my little Benz.

I don't think I could sleep at night if I had a c230 with over 75k on the clock if the chain had not been done
I don't like surprises when it comes to my car I expect her to start up every morning get me to my destination and home again with no fuss at all. Oh and be ready for a 1-2k mile road trip at the spur of the moment with no preparations or accommodations. I live dangerously in other ways just not with my car.
For example this one time I colored a little bit outside the line in my Dora the explorer coloring book

Hell yeah, on the original timing chain!
I do drive it hard, but it gets pampered too. its always garaged at night, Mobil 1 every 13K miles. I've takin it across the country with 3 mountain bikes strapped to the back. Driven it in blizzards and 120 degree heat. I figured by now, if the dumb timing chain goes, let it. Then I'll either get the motor rebuilt or think up some cool transplant.

230,000 miles and still going strong. Original timing chain, original alternator, original battery. Largest changes i made was a new fuel pump and front control arms. Below are photos during my valve cover gasket replacement.

120k miles on mine. I replaced the chain as a precaution. The chain was not stretched. A set of motor mounts, dampener pulley, spark plugs , filters and plenty of tires . I'm a picky person so I've replaced a couple of items that didn't absolutely need to be changed. On the rest of the car I only change if its broken.

Still running on the same chain, valve cover still isn't leaking, have had two tensioners seize and break the serpentine belt, in short.. Not many things have broken. She's has been a good. I dfinitely need to give the suspension lots of attention.

Out Of Control!!
Just passed over 185,000 on Sunday.
If the car makes it, I should be at that magical number by year-end, I reckon. Can't wait to put on summer tires next month; had one re-powdercoated to clean up a nasty parallel parking incident, and just sent the center caps to oCarbon to have them redone, in a nice smurfy blue carbon fiber weave, of course.
Car's still running fine here, but still some updates and tinkering to do...

I just did a round trip out to Las Vegas and my C is just over 259XXX miles now. I've been looking at First Gen CLS's but I 'm curios just how long my car will last...
