Thinking of finally forking up the money and buying one. Thoughts?

FYI, the Escort Redline with updated firmware is on par with V1 if not better.
It does not have the funky arrows though

There are some links to youtube videos in there, including V1, Max, etc.

Doesn't a radar provide a sense of false security?

To some extent, it does. Especially if one does not know how to use it properly...
As an example, it will NOT alert you to laser in advance. Or if the police is using "Instant On" radar sampling, it might not be alerting until they are clocking YOU from 300 feet

My V1 has 'paid' for itself many times over. Is it the latest and greatest detection tool? I don’t know.

Situational awareness is still a must, but that’s a given for any enthusiast whenever he/she is behind the wheel.
Of course now that I almost qualify for senior discounts speeding on public highways occurs far too rarely. :D

Ja. I find the arrows to be a worthwhile feature.
The concealed display also gives you good flexibility on how to mount everything.

"funky" arrows are good that way you can tell if it is at the side or coming up behind you
