C230 2007 W203 Cylinder Head Install Questions
I had to take the cylinder head off my C230 to fix it. I was getting error codes and losing compression in cylinder 1. I did not realize until I took the head off that the problem with the compression was a busted valve spring. The spring was from an exhaust valve in cylinder 1. I am putting everything back together and had some questions for the rebuild I was hoping you guys can help me with. I will post more questions as I go along.

1. When i took out the exhaust camshaft adjuster I tried locking the gear backlash using an allen key but it slipped a little and the teeth dont line up anymore. They slipped just barely. I have tried getting them lined up again but it just seems stuck. Any thoughts or suggestions on this problem?

2. I bought a new chain tensioner because I had read that once the tensioner is removed it can no longer be reused. Is this true? If not what do I need to do to reuse the old tensioner.

I guess I will post my own feedback since this forum is so terrible about no one knowing anything.
For the cam adjuster the gear backlash has a pretty strong spring in it. To match the teeth again i used a pretty by flat screwdriver and pushed the teeth together.
For the chain tightener I saw that the old one did not want to go back in. So with the new one it was.
