Hanging a voodoo doll from your rearview mirror usually helps keep the warning sign spirits away ...

Seriously I've heard this is an intermittent issue for which there is no definite cure. I've had the "left turn signal mirror light" come on periodically for a couple of years now. I ignore it and it goes off again. I'm not sure but I think the warning sensors measure resistance across the light bulb circuit -- so possibly replacing the bulb will help?

And here I thought this was a real emergency...lol! Seriously as J said this is kinda common for these cars. Some do it more than others. If you replace the bulb check for signs of moisture getting into where the bulb is. Moisture can deposit itself across the two contacts of the light bulb and in essence lower the resistance (but I think the car looks for a RAISE in resistance since this is what happens when the bulb goes out), or also look for signs of that same moisture causing some corrosion on the contacts for the bulb. Corrosion WOULD raise resistance and maybe bring it closer to that threshold the sensors look for to give you the warning light. Good luck!

In case you haven't caught on, they're asking about the side mirror bulbs.

I'd just replace the light strip with a new one, and see if the message goes away. It's not that expensive.

You talking to me Tommy? I was saying that I've seen moisture get into the side mirror blinker area... that's all....

Yeah, I was - wasn't sure by "replace bulb" if you were referring to the turn signal bulb in the headlight, or the one on the mirror. If you're going to go to the trouble of getting to the mirror bulbs, I just think it's a lot easier to replace the whole side at a time, instead of individual bulbs.

I never really looked at this unit closely before ... Can you replace individual bulbs or can you only replace the entire lighting strip?

Since I see that Glyn is looking at this thread now, he'll hopefully chime in.

I know that people here have said that you can individually replace the bulbs, but I have no idea. When I updated my lights, I did the strips as a whole.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. My fault for being vague. I have seen moisture get inside the strips themselves....that's what I was going on about....just trying to help!

I feel the weak point in the mirror housing blinker lights is the connector. It is designed to self-align and connect itself as you push the plastic housing over the mirror mount.

I would give the connector a spritz with contact cleaner. If that fails, I cut a fine grit emery board (from my manscaping kit.) to a narrow point to lightly sand the male pins.
