The transmission range sensor is in the electronic shifter module.

Have you spilt anything down past the shifter lever? Is there a hole in the leather boot?

Otherwise:

- Faulty Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Misadjusted Park/Neutral Position Switch
- Park/Neutral Position Switch harness is open or shorted
- Park/Neutral Position Switch circuit poor electrical connection

Remove the entire shifter & clean everything otherwise you will have to replace as a unit.

It's in the shifter unit. You will have to strip the console & remove the entire shifter mechanism.
