Sunroof Issue

Hi guys,

So everything on my sunroof works except the downward motion. When you tilt it up it doesn't come back down. So i have to use the backward motion , that is for fully opening it, to close the sunroof. I am not sure if the seal is tight. Any thoughts on this issue?!

What happens when you :
1-Fully open it backwards
2-When it's all the way back, press the one-touch UP key

Does it close, then tilt up ? or does it fully open, then close a bit ?

might be a case of a motor out of sync, try a quick resynch !

if not, then you probably need to test the button, maybe it's busted !

Yeah, that's what I thought - if you can get the sunroof to close somehow, then it's probably not the roof, its motor, or the connections, and probably it's the switch itself. Having taken one of the dome light assemblies apart myself, the switch is a complex mess of plastic, any part of which could fail.

I agree that re-synching would be the first plan of attack.

Dome lights are around $80 - 150 on ebay; if re-synching doesn't work, it might be the cheapest thing to try next.

How do i resynch?

And it can open fully and go to a closing position. I tested it with a little water to make sure it sealed and it was sealed. So the only issue is that it doesn't close from a tilt point.

Open it, then close it fully, and keep holding the button forward for another 5-10 seconds. All in the manual.

Like silicone lubricant, Dupont Krytox is toxic so you should wear latex glove when applying it to sunroof,..... and thus, your little friend should be wearing latex if Krytox was used on her,.... otherwise from the toxicity, your little friend could become all red, big and swollen,... hmmm,..... I gotta go and cancel my order for an enlargement hand pump
