Random Misfire
Hi All,
Im new here, and glad to be apart of the MB family.
I drive a 2006 C180K Manual, in the last 2 months my car had misfired twice.
The first time i took the car to the shop the engine returned misfire on cylinder 2 and cylinder 4. The misfire disappears when the ignition is switched off and on again. My mechanic reset the fault codes and i was good to go until yesterday, when the misfire returned. I switched the car off and back on again and the misfire disappeared. The EML remained on. I took the car back to the shop and the engine returend misfire on cylinder 2.
Has anyone experiend this issue.
Please help to what it could be.

Check on plug coilpacks for each cylinder.
Check wires & plugs to coils.
Check Fuel pressure at front fuel rail. s/b > than 3.8 bar or 55 psi.
Check CPS
Check plugs
Could be a fuel pump or clogged fuel filter problem.

It might sound strange for you, but check your MAF if it's contaminated with oil. If it is, you'll need to clean the air ducts including the intercooler, and that might solve the problem.

This problem will be fixed when you replace the coils with the Plugs and please check if you have oil around the coil. If you see oil that is the cause of the miss fire replace the all parts mentioned including the gasket of the motor cover.
