Mazda rims
Any reason not to use the rims and snow tires from my RX8 which I no longer have? 5 bolt pattern at 245/40/R17. I have not pulled a wheel off and tried them. Thought I'd pose the question before getting my hands dirty. . .

The Rx8 wheel bolt pattern is 5x 114.3 Benz w203 is 5 x 112.
Rx8 center bore = 67.1mm Benz w203 is 66.56mm
Rx8 offset is ~ 50mm ET. Benz w203 should be 30-35mm ET range.
Theoretically, you could make them work with wobble bolts or adapter/spacers, new lug bolts and centering rings- but that's a lot of work and potential for issues...

Thanks for the specifics. I am thankful for not lifting and pulling a wheel only to be disappointed. Having the extra wheels made winter driving in the Mazda a simple swap and go. I will have to look for some used merc rims.
Lastly, any idea how to get the rear Window shade down? Button does nothing, fuses are good. I don't want to force it and do more harm.

If the button does *nothing*, then you pretty much have a blown shade motor, and will have to force it down.
If there is a clicking sound (i.e. it tries to move but is kind of stuck), you can try to push it down while pressing the button, and at some point the gears will engage.

Yeah, no click or hum. And I suppose that motor is buried beneath the rear Window shelf / back seat? I guess I'll be tearing into that area this weekend and see what I can find. . . Thanks! Next time, CD's that won't play or eject.
