LED on climate control is blown. How Do I replace them?

I've recently installed a aftermarket head unit and once I put everything back I noticed that the climate control LED lights are blown on both sides (see pic). It's not a big deal but it irritates me sometimes.

How do I replace the bulbs or do I just replace the whole climate control panel?

Also happened to my heated seat button (driver side) #1 is dimmer than #2 button.

You have to replace the climate controller. I know of no one that has butchered the thing open successfully.

You should be able to open it up. Just peel off the sticker at the bottom, then pop open the clips.

I thought I read somewhere once that the analogue climate controller (ie the one you have there) use actual (tiny) incandescent bulbs, while the digital version uses LEDs. Where you'd get replacement bulbs though, I have no idea..

Interesting. If someone does pull one apart please post pics. Some of the ones I have seen appear to be sealed. Early controllers are usually suffering knob decay & get tossed.

One of our members did manage to get those little incandescents IIRC to light the vent controls on his 240 in the same way that they are lit on 320's.

Digi-Key has the grain of wheat lamps. You can also get them from RS or Farnell outside the USA. A low current 24 to 28 volt lamp should give enough light on 12 volts, and will last a very long time.

The leds are harder to replace because they are surface mount. You need to have specialized solder skills and equipment after you determine exactly what fits.
