w203 270cdi turns off right after start
Hi there
Can anyone tell me what woul be the problem with my car that sometimes right after i've started the engine and shifted to R it stops.
And it won't start again.
I have to keep the engine starter running for more than 30s several times and than it maybe will start again.

If the air filter & fuel filters are clean it could be to be a fuel delivery problem . You could have someone check the rail fuel pressure.
If it starts then stops the glow plugs must be OK.
You could check with a scanner whether you have any engine check alarms.
If you post in the MB Diesel section you may receive more info.
Please let us know the outcome.

I am new to this forum ( where can I find the MB diesel section ?)
I had made several scanner checks but nobody found anything.
Most of the times the car works fine and it doesn't stop while driving.
Just once me managed to test it on scanner while it wasn't starting and we got a wery low diesel preasure.
Thats the only thing we found.

Could be a fuel tank pump intermittent fault or a blocked tank fuel pump filter.
Also a low pressure fuel pump intermittent fault.
A diesel mechanic should be able to diagnose quickly.
