W203 C270 CDI Coolant Visit Workshop error and much more!
Hello,
I have owned now for 3 months a 2001 MB C270 CDI, last week problems started to come up. First the computer told me 'Coolant Visit Workshop' and the radiator fan was working high all the time and the car went into limp mode, the revs are not going over 3k. Next i went to a local workshop and they have done a diagnostic. The diagnostic displayed mass air flow sensors fault, then i have tryed 2 more different sensors but no changes.
The next day when i was going to work, then one additional error appeared 'UNDERVOLTAGE CONSUMER DEFECTIVE '. When my workday was over and i started the car, then there were 2 more faults displayed on the computer!!! ESP NOT AVAILABLE and BATTERY ALTERNATOR VISIT WORKSHOP, dash lightnings are flashin and the fan doesnt work anymore high like it was before, now it starts and stops, starts and stops. I have also posted a Thread to my local MB forum but no proper answers came from there, i would really appreciate when someone has solved the same kind of issues and would share the solution with me. Sorry about the bad English.

The car doesnt stall (if you mean by stalling that the car is shutting down), it starts also fine, but is only in limp mode. The battery should be one year old.

Limp-mode points to transmission issues,... when was last transmission oil change done,... transmission pan gasket,... pilot bushing adapter,... what is mileage

Check your pilot bushing adapter, transmission oil level, test transmission oil for leaking coolant, pull TCU to see if its oily,....
OR you could just take it back to where you got Service B done and ask them why its getting so many error codes now

The car has been now for almost 2 weeks in a workshod, where they have repaired the alternator, they said that it was not working but the Coolant Visit Workshop error is still there They are searching what is causing it but with no success.

Great to have feed back on a fault.
Wish everyone would take the time.
Is this the car that gives you a coolant alarm because the washer level is low ?

I dont now is it possible? Because when the washer fluid is low then it has told me that Check Washer Fluid or something like that. The repair worker said that he is trying to find the failere according to the original W203 repair manual.
EDIT: I have called to the workshop and asked them to check the washer fluid, they hasn`t done it yet. Now are fingers crossed

The workshop called me today that the car is fine. I took the car and it worked fine for something like 5km, the f****ng error came again. I called the workshop and they called me back. We found the problem, fuse nr.54 was blown, okay we replaced it and again the same, it worked for 15min or something like that and again the error was displayed, i havent checked yet but probably it is the fuse again. Any ideas someone? I am sick off that car!

If there are multiple components supplied you may have to disconnect each one in turn until the problem component is found.

It is beginning to become complicated.
You may need the WIS ( MB workshop manual) to learn the total components drawing their power from this fuse.
Have you used a scanner to check for faults ?.
With help from your fuse list can you pull the fuse to the windscreen washer & see whether it clears? Alternately pull the plug to the washer system.
I'm away for a few days .
Hope you have it sorted soon.

The workshop called and they said that the problem is in some motor that adjustes some valves in the intake manifold. They have disabled power for that motor in the ECU and the car works fine. BUT now the valves arent working anymore in the intake manifold. Here comes now my question. Can it cause some damage to the engine if the valves dont move?

Thanks for the feedback.
Read the last post on this link.http://www.mbclub.co.uk/forums/engin...-shut-off.html
You also could post the problem on the diesel forum on this MB site . You may receive a more detailed answer.
Here is another informative post from Google. http://forums.mercedesclub.org.uk/sh...ad.php?t=85945
From what I see here, so long as the flaps are open & the car runs well you have nothing to loose except a little low rev torque. Interesting to read that BMW no longer use them because of their problems.
Good luck.
John.

Is there any possibility that the flap can fall into the engine when i run the engine like that? Like it is a problem with BMW engines. Now i am a little confused because the workshop guy said that he would repair the flaps but now i dont know what to do, remove the flaps, let them be like that or repair it.

I do not know enough about the problem to comment too much .
The complete removal or fixing the flaps in the open position would give you piece of mind that they were not going to close or damage your engine.
I think you should listen to the expert workshop people.
