Sad to be leaving Benz ownership...

You need a 4wd car in Australia??, I understand for a jeep in the outback but for day to day driving, guess the snow is really bad

I had an older 2003 A4 Quattro 3.0 (V6) Sport and it drove really good. The 4x4 was good in the rain too (no snow here) but was really different getting used to driving it vs a rear wheel drive when breaking traction.
It actually handled a little better than my stock C320 Sport. The older A4 cars you don't want to get the turbo 4cyl and definitely want the sport package. Luckily I had a warranty on mine as 3 coil packs failed after I had gotten it but it was about 6 years old. I see the new A4s are all 2.0 4cyl but have Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige models now.

.The grip seems great too but I haven't done any tight cornering.
Build quality I still think a Benz is higher. The interior is very nice, yet the plastics and the way things fit together, when examined close, is not to the mercedes level. I'm not saying it's bad, I just think mercedes attention to detail is better.
We got a fantastic deal for this car. We pretty much paid C200 price for a car that is in the C250 or bmw 328i league. And this audi still has more equipment in it (and is faster).
With the sunroof and metallic paint new it would be just over $78,000 drive away. We got a 1500km demo 3 month registered and still got just over about $10000 off the demo sticker price. Black was the last one left with sunroof. The deals they had going were only eligible on in stock new and demos. We wanted a brand new car but they only had two non Quattro models in our price bracket without half the features this car has (not even rear air vents, electric seats etc).
PS
Here in Western Australia all the government charges add up to over $4500 :-(

cars are crazy priced in australia, for $78,000 here you would get a very nice S5 full options and all in (taxes pdi freight) and still have money left over or a base RS5 not incl taxes

PS.
I'm a little depressed seeing this
http://www.audiusa.com/models#Out of that lineup, I'd get the A8 for $75,100. But look here; http://forms.audi.com.au/PriceCalcul...A&u=a8/a8.html
