I would use a product called "Simichrome" it's a cream that I used to use in the jewelry business. Took it home tried it on my open pore aluminum rims worked excellent now I use it on all non clear coated metal and chrome. I've seen it at Restoration Hardware.

Hi thanks for the reply. I'm new to the detailing business so Do i clean the pipe first with soap and water (sponge? metal pot scrubber?) and apply this cream? or is this cream the cleaning agent itself? where can i get this cream? thanks.

DON"T use a scrubber! I would clean it first with a sponge and soap. Then apply the cream with a soft cloth. Work it in gently, flip the cloth and buff. Depending on how bad the buildup is on the pipe you may need to repeat this.

This is available online but who wants to wait.

Give a call see if they have it(hopefully it's close to you):

to prevent that once u do get it clean again, clean it with a damp towel or sponge each time u wash the car.

I use Eagle One Never Dull to shine chrome stuffs. You can get them at Pep-boys or any auto shop for around $4. Cheap and effective.

Its likely stainless steel- and polished, if it were aluminum is would already have turned dull and gray. If it were chromed steel(normal steel) it would have rusted by now.

into things
Look for a chrome polish in the wax section of a store. Like Eagle One or etc. Don't need to spend too much to just wax your exhaust. :p

THIS IS THE ANSWER<

nothing else will work as well for the $$

Bar Keepers Friend. I use this on my cherished All-clad pots and pans (They are stainless steel), polished on the outside. Its like the orginal powder Comet.

Mix a little water with the powder, rub it on the tips with a towel, rub rub eub...rinse with water. VOILA! I just did it 5 min ago

You can find it at any grocery store. $3 perfect solution.
