Front Right Catalyst?
I've tried searching for information about this but I haven't come up with much.
I have a 2007 c230 sport. My check engine light comes on and off from time to time so I took it to an independent to have it checked. I was told that I needed to replace the front right catalyst for $700?
First of all, I'm having a hard time finding info on this model having more than 1 cat. Based on the little info I've scraped together $700 is unreasonable, especially if it is a pre cat.
Can anyone help clarify this for me?

Your C230 is V6 and has two cats. You can see them if you crawl underneath and remove the plastic cover.
Cheaper way to fix is to have a muffler shop fit an universal type that would work on your car. I did the exactly same thing and cost me $250.

If your mechanic is using MB parts that's not a bad installed price (relative). The MSRP for a Re-Man MB cat on that year and model is $725, wholesale less, new is over 1k parts only.
But I agree, the price is eye popping compared to the universal route.

I was referring to the OPs quote of $700 as yours was obviously aftermarket, but certainly a far more attractive price 
Glad to hear the aftermarket has been without issues so far as we will probably be facing that decision soon on my sons car. Did you happen to get the brand on the cat?
