Siren going off randomly?
Help, The car siren is going off for a few minutes after locking the car and the fogs lights are flashing? What do you think that means? I live in an area with snow and salt could it have got corroded the wires? Also if it is expensive to fix maybe they can just disconnect the alarm because i don't know if I really need it.

Check the front hood switch for the alarm, not sure where it is in your car but it will be a push down plunger with a rubber cover, also check the door switches. Any indication on the dash of some body part open ie the trunk, door etc. BMW are famous for the hood switch to fail which sets off the alarm.

It's more than likely your alarm siren. they have internal batteries that corrode, leak and then the thing goes nuts. mine did the same thing as you describe.
It on the passenger side (US spec car) behind the right front wheel - behind the fender lining, It's one bolt/nut and one plug. there is a new part number that supersedes the old part number. Slight variation in how it mounts. I paid ~$160 from dealer.

The alarm siren has internal batteries ( for back-up if your main 12V battery goes dead - and they go bad over time, leak and corrode the circuit board in the alarm. Then they do all of the symptoms you are describing when they go bad. It may even just go off randomly. I drove home -15 mile trip - with it going off the whole time. Here's a thread that may help...
