You guys know how to make a guy feel old. I am 43 going on 44. I have been married longer than most of you guys have been alive. Maybe we need an over 40 forum. C320 Sport

So they fear problems with a used car, but have no problems with their kid at the wheel of a super-fast AMG sports sedan?

Just speaking from a little experience, here. My parents felt more comfortable with a more reliable car for me, so they got me a year old Supra Turbo to replace the 733i that had a mysterious engine stalling problem. It took me about 3 months to total it on an interstate on ramp -- just too much power for my teenage testosterone rush and feelings of invincibility.

My next car was a used Buick Lesabre.

Most of you guys can call me dad. I'm 36. Wife and I bought our first Mercedes 5 years ago (new C230k). Ten months later we bought my ML. Six months later she totals the C230k and bought a 2000 323Ci. Someone crashed into our 323Ci 4 months ago and we now have our C320 Sport on order.

My first car was a hand down Ford Escort wagon with airbrushed woodgrain siding (ohhhh....) from my parents when I graduated from high school.

You guys make me sick

I have to hand it to Lorinser C Class. He's young, has kids, 2 nice cars and did it by himself.

I'm curious what you younger guys (under 25) expect from your Benz? As an older guy (32) I expect a build quality that will easily last ten years and still drive like new. Do you want something for five years and then trade it in? Or plan on driving for a while?

This benz, just keep it around because its the FIRST car I TRULY modded to my needs. Next car will be a big body benz(ex S500)or bmw(7series) or Audi(A8)

i expected benz to have the german build quality...but not performance tho....parents scared of me driving fast and in fast cars...so instead of Audi turbo or BMW (which they think are sports cars) they got me a wimpy 2003 C-200K and later i found that i can't get ne pullies or stuff like that so this performance issue is getting no where

dad bought benz cause its ment to last long so prob won't be getting a new 1 untill 6 years later? i hope i'd be earning my own money by then and getting what i want

?"I expect a build quality that will easily last ten years and still drive like new. "

lol thats exactally what my dad says...

Parents bought it Cash. Parents only do cash. So will when I get older.

I chose this car because its Safe, Reliable, and Comfortable. I can fill pages on why I chose Benz over other cars but those are the main 3. I will be in school for the next 8-10 yrs so I am going to have this car for awhile. I will probably get another benz later in about 6-8 yrs but still keep my C as I want to be a classic someday.

I have had one minor sunroof issue and that as fixed. There is one small rattle near the center console but I really dont give a ****. Its not important. This car is a dream. I will drive a Mercedes-Benz for the rest of my life.

Im just stuck with Benz cars. I love it but its been a tradition in my family. After my dad owning a big body S-class w140, then 2 w220 s-classes, I guess i had to keep the tradition going. I'd hate to break it. Hopefully my next car will be a CL55.

Lots of young guys here. For me, I'm turning 29 in two months and just got my first benz (C230 sport sedan). I have 2 kids (1 almost 2 years old and 1 only 3 months), two car payments to make (the other is a '03 MDX) and a house payment all on my own. And yes, being a dad is not easy...used to spend >80% of my free time working on cars. It's more like 90% now but on kids.

I'm 28. At 18 I bought a 90 300Z twin turbo and then at 24 bought the new E46 BMW 3 series. I sold the BMW to buy a Hummer then was about to buy the MB E500 and decided to save some $ and bought a fully loaded C320 sedan.
I like this car, but had a lot more fun in the BMW and I decided after 4 years that I wanted something different. Now I want to keep my car and use it as a commuter and looking at a pre-96 Viper or a Ferrari F355 spyder in the future.
