2002 C230 Coupe acceleration

I just performed some acceleration runs on my 2002 C230 Coupe 6 speed. I was using a Vericom VC3000 to aquire the data and did three runs using various launch techniques. The ambient temperature was 7 deg. C which of course gives decent power. 1/4 mile 15.09 sec @ 96.7 mph.
0-60 mph 6.79 sec.

As with most accellerometers, the velocity always seems to be high on the 1/4 mile.

This is because at a race track the 1/4-mile speed is the average speed for the last 60 feet (due to how the timing lights are postioned). Accelerometers give an instananeous reading right at the end of the 1/4-mile time, so the speed is higher.

Wow, those are great numbers! Is your car modified at all? Now we need you to report back with the results from an 03 coupe to confirm the 2.3's advantage!

A bucket on wheels
so much effects the times. i ran several times at LACR in palmdale. hot place around 85 degrees at 6 o'clock at night elevatoin is high or something they say to subtract half a second to get accurate times of what you would get at sea level. i ran about 5 times. first time i messed up my launch. brake torqued it, and i was averaging all night long 17.150. which is about 16.650. very dissapointing. add an extra 75 pounds for my sound system(2 12's and 2 6x9 speakers with boxes and amp) and a friend of mine who came with me. heres the good news of that night....i beat a older bodystyle VW golf or gti (debadged) and i got beat by a new eclipse with exhaust and engine mods done(intake, chip...) i got the slow launch but i was creeping up on him until the finnish line and i was gaining fast. i would have won if we went to 100mph easily. traction control was on and off and i was getting pretty good reaction times of .700 but my 0-.60 sucked thats not 0-60mph but 60 feet i believe. Oh and its a 2002 auto tranny, placed it in first and let the computer shift up for me when it reached redline. my car is leased and suffered through a major accident where the engine had to be replaced so i abuse my car until i upgrade to a C32 or c55 jan of 2005 lets see that damn eclipse keep up with a c55/32
