New Secret ESP Activated Code???

"My uncle picked this up from MBforum...and it seems to work on our car as well as his E.
If you turn the car on, and at any time, hold the ESP button down for 8-10 seconds, something happens. You push it to turn it off, but hold it down. The light stays on, then turns back off as if ESP was back on again. Now though, you get a better throttle response and quicker acceleration. A free power boost, perhaps?
Can someone investigate please? I've tried it on my car, and it 'does' feel faster..."
Andy, he says he's already tried it and it appears to work. He's waiting for YOU to try it, too.

On mine it throws flames out of my exhaust when I hit 55.

I don't know what Dyno mode means tho. Just thought I read this somewhere else in the forum

shuts off the ESP. PERIOD.
You guys are experiencing a placebo effect.
I have to hold the button down for 15 or 16 seconds to get the light to go off. And when it goes off, nothing unusual happens. There is no power increase. I think everyone is experiencing an imaginary power increase because they wish it to happen. Butt dynos are every bit as trustworthy as calibrated eyeballs and internal clocks.
it just turns off the knocker sensors supposedly, which will have a little effect on the acceleration....nothing to great though.

Pressed and held the ESP OFF button.
ESP warning light came on solid.
After about 8-10 seconds, ESP warning light went off again.
After this, I did notice a different 'feel' to the car.
Maybe it is the placebo effect, but the throttle response seemed crisper (maybe more electronic throttle at smaller pedal positions?), and the car downshifted noticably during deceleration - which I had never noticed before.
Overall power at full throttle didn't appear to be increased (no improvement in butt dyno), but the car felt more responsive, and the transmission seemed to be in the right gear at the right moment.
Of course, it could all be in my head. There was traffic, so I didn't have open testing road, but I'm intrigued enough now to do some real testing over the long weekend.
i agree with lynn, same thing went on in the w211 forum. MB doesnt hide power for fun or anything....
