Dealer said that there is a long wait list and preference is given to SL and SLK owners.
Why put a feature in the car if the item is not readily available?
How much does your dealer want for it?
Send me the name so I can order it from them.

Re: Babysmart Child Seat
We had an SLK and got the infant seat. We ordered the toddler seat but did not take it at the time, since it was not possible to use it rear-facing. We had to give our VIN to order it, and our dealer had the same story about the preference to SLK and SL owners. We bought a Britax non-babysmart convertable seat and I retrofitted the babysmart modules from the infant seat into the Britax. It had the recesses in the base for the modules!
MB at the time was going to release a convertable infant/toddler seat. I don't know if that has happened yet.
Two comments:
1) Try a Porche dealer - I think they use the same babysmart system by Siemens.
2) Your child is way safer in the rear ;-)

Hey Steve,
I did not know that you can get these seats as well!
I am looking for the larger size for children that weigh 40 - 100 lbs.
Please let me know if you can get these and how much?
Thanks!

Can't tell from the pictures. Are there any indications of the weight capacities for these seats?
I think the picture marked Seat #5 maybe it.
Please let me know how much and what is its capacity?
Thanks!

MBWorld Fanatic!
those are the infant seats. the toddler seat is a booster with a very floppy back side. the pattern of the cloth (on mine at least) is b u t t ugly. I mean downright nasty tan and blue plaid. But it does what it's supposed to.
I bought mine when I had the coupe which only has two rear belts and I have 3 kids so <buzz> bring me to the front of the line for those seats. You may want to try that argument with the dealer btw.
In my situation, I made enough of a stink that the mgr of the parts dept called the district mgr of MBUSA and they found one somehwere in the country and expedited it to me.
Now I have the sedan and my seat got all of 5 trips through 3 months on it - but in the US we can't resell used kid seats so there it sits.
Good luck!
P.S. As far as kids safer in the back versus front - sorry, bad argument and I don't want to start something here, bu the only reason they're safer is that there is no airbag exploding on them - guess what, with these seats that problem is gone. Now what's safer - me having to turn 180 degrees to fix an issue with my child while driving or turning 90 degrees to help them? If you have kids you'll know what I mean - those without undoubtably want to say - pull over or tell them to wait - HAH!
