Just had my wife's C240 4matic towed home. She called to say she broke down, car won't move. Got down there, but nothing could have prepared me for the noise I heard. I'm going to look under there tomorrow morning, but it sounds a lot like my 68 International Scout when the transfer case blew up. Literally, it sounds like a rock crusher. I'm afraid to look.

Front drive shaft U-joint blew up. Took out the O2 sensor with it. Anyone here ever tried to replace just the U-joint, rather than the entire axle?
