I'm new to Mercedes (know Audi's well). I'm 'taking care' of my dad's 2004 C240 4matic. Recently we've noticed occasional low-speed (lower gears) hesitation when shifting between gears. Occasionally also hear a brief growl-like sound. On one occasion that car revved up and the transmission didn't engage. Very intermittent. Any ideas out there? Shop checked the transmission and fault codes... and did not find any issues. Thanks in advance.

Any Ideas on the last transmission service? That would be a filter AND fluid change.
Transmission will not always pull a code. Did the shop use STAR or another scan tool?
