If I keep buying new ones, why would I have to polish the old ones?

They look good! I think I'm going to go for it. I'll post up some pics when I get them in.

Quick question, I saw in a pic on eBay that it looks like the light "bleeds" out of the enclosure of the cover. Have you had any issues with this? Or does the yellow lighting come only through the clear opening?

Here is the image I am referring to.

Another tidbit I noticed is that it says it can be painted in NEW OEM paint, which makes me wonder if they would match correctly in my car.

Dave, I really think that's the result of a bad photo more than bleeding (though mine are black, and those are silver, which might factor into it, but I doubt it). Hit the lock button several times just now in the driveway, and just got clear, crisp lighting on them.

Your question about the paint matching is a good one. Though you would have the same problem on any set of mirror covers, most likely. Still, paying for new covers, and then having to immediately get them painted over would kind of suck. That's why you need to do something different and get mirror covers that contrast your body color - all of the cool kids are doing it.

Nice.

You didnt see any difference in the color between the mirrors and the rest of the car?

Tommy, yep, that's what I was about to suggest too.
And then he just needs a few finishing touches like black vinyl wrapped roof, smoked grill and taillights, blacked out chrome pieces, 1% tint all-round, and bam!

Hmm, then less tint on the windshield

But seriously, maybe it's possible to ask them for unpainted covers with a discount, and then have a bodyshop match the paint on the car?

Probably is possible, but wouldn't it make more sense to try them as is with your current color, and then get them redone if they don't match close enough? It does seem that they have a very limited palette, though, and as such, your suggestion does have merit.

So I have to screw the two parts together, do the wiring thing, then they'll be ready for installation. A project for about ages 6 - up. But I was a bit surprised that there were so many steps to it.

The plastic seems to be of the same quality as the OEM mirrors.
Tommy, I was actually looking at picking these up before I saw this thread. I'm confused by what you're saying though. I'll probably wait until you post some pics of the wiring because that's what is confusing me.
Also, I had messaged the seller on eBay a few days ago because I thought that the picture provided for the silver mirrors looked way dark. I suppose the color-matching will be "good enough" :/

I think you and I have the same color car. It's that lighter shade of silver. You answered my question!

And I considered black since I am going to do my roof black, but I'm not sure...

Update!

Decided to go for the black ones so I can avoid any color matching issues. I will be doing black with the black gloss vinyl for the roof, and the black C320 lettering in the back. In due time, some black rims should make it all fit perfectly and give it a sporty look. Will post pics when I get them!

I think I'm going to go the same route. I think black mirrors will look good with my car, especially since I'll also be getting a gloss black roof wrap, and the dark window tint...good amount of contrast.
I'll be getting new silver rims, however...

Hey Tommy,

How have these held up so far? Biting the bullet next week on these, and I don't want any surprises! Paint code matches up with my car, hoping for a good color match.

HELP!

"Hello, I am sorry for posting in your tread, I could not find how to start a New post."

After a Hit and Run, I need to replace my left OEM side mirror entire assembly... Cover, mirror, main body and seal and short electric wires loom to the door controller. But after reading a few treads and looking in the Russian parts diagram, I am confused as to exactly witch parts numbers I need for my car? 2005 C320- 744U Silver metallic, 249 inside & outside mirror Auto dimming, 275 Memory Package and I guess heated mirrors(?).

Your help with this parts number would be much welcome.

Sorry, forgot to respond here. They've held up great so far, which is generally surprising for an off brand ebay product. I'm happy with 'em. Though not with the rest of the car right now, which has a P0304 at the moment.

TYUS, he already had black cloth A-pillars as I remember, so it seemed logical to try and paint the headliner instead of having to take it off and glue the new material on.
