I don't think that I'll worry about the puddle lights; have no interest in working on the electronics of this car. Besides, I have puddle lights that mount underneath the door sills that I never got around to - so why start with puddle lights now?
They arrive in two pieces; the main cup and the part that's further back after the indent that runs the whole of the mirrors (I'll take some pics).
As for the wiring, instead of a female connection attached to the base of the mirror cup, there's a wire that's a couple of inches long that's a male connection. You then have to attach that to another wire that's got a female at each end to complete the circuit. I guess that's so they can get as many applications out of the same product?
So I have to screw the two parts together, do the wiring thing, then they'll be ready for installation. A project for about ages 6 - up. But I was a bit surprised that there were so many steps to it.I'm going to order some strips from Lamin-X and put them on the light covers for added protection, since I'm in no rush, so installation may be a bit delayed for a week or so.
The plastic seems to be of the same quality as the OEM mirrors.

Got the black ones. They'll match the glossy black trim around the side windows and elsewhere.
Also had a great time peeling the headliner fabric off the headliner this morning, as it was a driving hazard. Gotta love MB quality control.
I'm pretty impressed, I have to say. Quality's same with MB; hopefully, the electronics are even better.
I'll try to take a couple of pics tomorrow if the weather cooperates.

Reminds me of a cranky family member who inherited an old 40's Chev in his 'varsity days. This thing had virtually zero paint left & a light layer of rust over the entire body. Some idiot bashed in the LHS front fender after a Friday night binge.
The perpetrator's insurance coughed up. The panel shop said ~ "Mr Judd, what colour would you like your fender" to which Harry responded Burgundy!
Thereafter every Sunday morning Harry would polish this Burgundy fender to a high shine on this old rust bucket. Looked rediculous.
