Audio problem - Anyone else?
I picked up my new Coupe last friday, is has the bose audio and a dealer-installed 6-cd changer. Everything worked great on Friday and Saturday.
On Sunday, i was on a mini-road trip, listening to CDs. pulled off to get some gas, when i re-started, the head unit said "no changer". The radio worked fine though. The next time i started the car later the day, the changer worked fine.
The next morning on the way to work everything was fine. 20 minutes after arriving, i was showing my co-worker the car, and gave him a ride around the block, and then i discovered that neither the changer ('no changer') nor the radio (no sound output, but display was normal. However the "EXT" audio option where you select Ambient or Driver-side noise, for example, had vanished.)
I called the dealer who had me come right down to start working on it. After a few hours they called and told me the problem was a bad amplifier, which they ordered. I drove my car on Monday night and tuesday and wednesday. Consistently, the systems worked in the morning, but did not work later on in the day. However if it worked at start-up, it would continue working the entire time the car was running (ie. it never petered out in the middle of a trip)
Thursday I had the new amp installed. A few hours later they called and told me it had not fixed the problem, and were going to keep the car to figure out what was going on.
This is beginning to get very frustrating. Anyone experienced similar problems? Solutions?
