My transmission seems to pause in between shifts like it's slipping and my car only has 80000 miles can anyone shed some light on this situation? Thank you in advance

C_steapsC230,

Have you ever serviced the transmission? The fluid and filter in the 722.6xx automatic transmission needs to be changed every 40,000 miles, so if it has never been done, it is over-due.

If you need to service the transmission in your car, we offer transmission service kits on our website. You can get to them by clicking HERE, or by clicking on the photo of the transmission service kit below.

Another item you may want to look into is the Conductor Plate. This component sits atop the valve body, and is what transmits the signals from the transmission control module to the shift solenoids. Failure of the conductor plate is a know issue on the 722.6xx automatic.

If you need to replace the conductor plate, we offer a genuine Mercedes-Benz replacement on our website. You can get to it by clicking HERE, or by clicking on the photo below.

If you are replacing the conductor plate, you should also replace the Pilot Bushing. This part is used to connect the transmission wiring harness to the conductor plate. It is a very common failure for this part to leak transmission fluid. The fluid that leaks from here can even wick its way up to the transmission control module, leading to very costly repairs.

If you need a new Pilot Bushing, we have them on our website. You can get to them by clicking HERE, or by clicking on the photo below.

Also, if you have never changed the fluid in this transmission, you may be unaware that it does not have a dipstick. In order to be certain that you have the correct amount of transmission fluid in your car after a service, you will need the 722.6xx Transmission Dipstick Tool. This is the same tool that technicians at the dealership use to check the fluid level in these transmissions. You can get to the transmission dipstick tool on our website by clicking HERE, or by clicking on the photo below.

If there is anything else I can help you out with, please feel free to post or send a PM!
