Fuel vapor emissions leak CEL help!
I have a 2004 C230k sedan 96k miles I'm having trouble filling the car up with gas I place nozzle in fuel neck pump gas it immediately clicks after 3 secs. I back the nozzle out slightly pump fuel in slower and the nozzle clicks and so on until just the tip of the nozzle is in the fuel neck then fuel pours out when full. Recently my CEL came on stating fuel vapor emissions leak and I assume the first issue is the symptom. Anybody have this problem? Where should I start? Please help.. Also how do I remove or pull up seat to look at the fuel tank. I have the sedan

If you have an EECS leak you need to check the whole system including carbon cannister & fuel cap. Diagrams are in the Wiki.
If you are battling to fill then the carbon cannister might be saturated & you likely have a blocked breather.
You access behind the fender shroud & under rear seat.
Remove 4 plastic covered bolts in front of the rear lower seat squab. Remove the lower seat.
Access to fuel senders, pump etc. is below 2 round metal covers.

Ok I'll check it out I was looking at my rear seat I see no way to look under the seat. I see the hinges but no way to pull it up to gain access to the fuel tank I'll look for the screws
