I just noticed the lens on my left fog lamp (front) is shattered. Any guestimates on how much it will cost to replace? Any ideas where to get a new unit (aside from the dealer parts counter)?

Also, should I cover the hole (with clear packing tape perhaps) until it gets fixed? I live in Oregon and it is the rainy season (the unit was steaming when I pulled into my garage this evening).

they are cheap, even from MB....about $24. I've only replaced the right one, which was easy.

You were able to replace only the lense, not the entire fog lamp unit? Was it difficult?

Yes, you replace just the lens which is affixed to the plastic lamp housing with large flat metal c-clips. Easy on the passenger side but I've read where the driver side is more difficult. On both sides you need to loosen panels and move things out of the way to access the assembly.
