It may be Vacuum metallized....which is what I do for a living. It would be very easy to do that to a car. I built a machine that coats wheels. You put one wheel in...and 2 minutes later it comes out reflective (chrome look).

well audi made one b4 in a carshow.....using the previous gen. A8 aluminum, also...the new jag xj has also been shown in aluminum as a concept..... to a laymans car..i dont think its practical nor doable esp wit plastic parts
