Some people are using 80 watt bulb for the high beams and haven't reported any problems, so far. But they don't use the high beams for extended periods, either, so the heat doesn't build up. Personally, I would avoid using 100 watt bulbs.

I agree, it will get too hot... I ran 85 watt bulbs in my other car and the wire connector plugs melted...

I have bi-xenon headlamps on my car. Recently, I am planning to purchase the PIAA - H7 (Xtreme white) to replace the OEM light bulbs. These H7 light bulbs claims that they use 55w and produce 110w of light source (something like that). Do you think they will melt the connectors too?

PIAA is a big company, do you think their H7 light bulbs would have any problems?

Refer to the attached link: http://www.piaa.com/Bulbs/Bulbs-H7.html

Please advice.

No those won't melt the connectors since they are 55 watt bulbs. I think PIAA lies by claiming to do something that defies the laws of physics.

So, they may be just a little brighter than the normal bulbs but cost more, eh?

Anybody tried using these bulbs?

Any pictures (in good quality) to compare the differences, thanks!

Any problems with the connectors after installed, such as melt down? Are they H7?

Besides PIAA, anybody uses the "IPF" - Hi-R light bulbs? They claim the bulbs are 55w and produce the light about 110w (HB4) and 130w (HB3).
