after market cell phone kit
last year I remember a link from this forum to www.benzsport.com about some guy who retro-fitted an after market phone hands free into mercedes.... I have just bought a bluetooth handsfree car kit and would somehow like to integrate it with the buttons on my steering wheel...
Since www.benzsport.com is closed, would anyone happen to have saved those pages?

if we're thinking of the same thread...
the guy on benzsport had installed a hands-free kit for his nokia 8290/8890 - i remember this because i had the same kit in my car. i now have a v70 kit in my car which will soon be replaced by a v300 kit - as i got rid of my v70.
anyways - all he did was had the mute wire from the cell kit attach to the mute wire going into the radio - yellow wire. he did not have the ability to use his steering wheel buttons. just when the phone was in use, the radio would mute and display "MUTED" - same as MFD - or "TeleAid Active" on COMAND systems. sound came from a seperate speaker.
