Just got off the phone with a member in Durban. He bought a runout W204 & has been fighting with pull from day one that the dealer could not fix after multiple alignments. Took the car to another dealer who was prepared to listen & he aligned it just as I have explained although they set final castor to 10 & 11 & pressed toe to 0.6. both sides. Still they achieved the 1 degree castor separation & the car now tracks dead straight for the first time. He is very happy at last.

Get the bolts & get it aligned properly. Both castor and camber

My average settings on my C240 were

Castor 9deg 50' ~ 10deg 50'
Toe 0.6/0.6
Camber 0deg 24'/0deg 24'

Rear correct toe.

Tyres Michelin PS2 235/45/17 all round. The wider the tyre the more likely to pull.

Zero pull.

Tyres wore very nicely too.

That is a beautiful car. It's exactly like mine, but....prettier!

I will have to buy the bolt and bring her back to Firestone and explain the above info to them. It all sounds like Chinese to me, so I hope the guy understands it. It's been within 30 days, so I sure as hell don't expect them to charge me. I will report back as soon as I get a chance to get this done!

Quick bit, would tires also affect this? 2 of my tires are needing to be replaced soon, might just do all 4 so I can start fresh and I may just do it at the same time they adjust my alignment. Is this a good idea? kill 2 birds with one stone, sort of speak...

If tyres have run their whole life with the aligment out yes they can cause pull. If they are non directional you can always cross rotate them on the same axle but they might cause the car to pull in the other direction.

New tires with correct alignment will always be best.

Always loved my old C240. Pretty car.

Pretty is understatement, my friend.

Last question, promise:

Is this the correct part? Going to order it today.

http://www.rmeuropean.com/Part-Numbe..._5C1313F8.aspx

and/or

http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...FSgQ7Aod8X8AJQ

I assume they are the same thing, as the part numbers match. It'll boil down to who I choose to buy it from?

And I assume I would need two, one for each side up front? or does the back need it, too?

Don't need for rear.

You need 4 for the front. 2 for the 3 way castor bushes & 2 for the 3 way camber bushes.

Those are the correct parts. Febi Bilstein are just fine. No need to go OE. They are identical.
