2000 C200 Kompressor
Help a noob out.
Hi, my name is Fridtjof (yea, really) I'm 22, and from Norway
I recently bought a 2000 Mercedes C200 Kompressor, the one with the M111 engine.
The check engine light was on, so I got googeling..
Found out the cam position sensor was most likely leaking. Disconnected it, and what do you know. Oil all up in that *****
. Worked my way back to the ECU, disconnected the harness, found some more oil. I've been reading alot of threads on here now (ALOT), on how to fix this.
But here's my concern. I reconnected the ECU and the damn thing wouldn't start. It didn't even turn over. Found out I broke the locking mechanism on two of the "cables" that goes in the ECU. Could this be the reason the thing wont start? Cause right now, they're pretty damn loose.. Car ran great yesterday.
Thanks in advance for any answers, and sorry for my not too perfect english.

Broken latch on the connectors [to ECU] can prevent the wires from making contact with the pins in the connector; this can result in car not starting.
You will need to see if you can fix/repair the locking/latch mechanism on those connectors.
Use electrical contact cleaner and clean the oil off of the wires.
