Diff fluid change: Any leaks?
Have a C240 4Matic sedan at ~88k and after winter I'll be crawling underneath to do some PM.
Have a few questions regarding the rear diff fluid:
What mileage should it be replaced? I can't find anything in the service manuals but I've searched for and found a few DIY threads here.
Has anyone done this and experienced leaks from the rear diff axle seal? My dad is a seasoned mechanic and he's done it on a few cars with the same result, leaks from the seal which has to be replaced..
If you have, what mileage did you change it at?
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
BTW: thank you all for the incredible forum and DIY posts!
I'll be changing the tranny oil/filter and doing a flush, changing the transmission connector while I'm down there, changing spark plugs, and engine oil once winter's over.
Anything else I should have a closer look at while I'm underneath with the skid plates off?
Thanks!

No leaks that I'm aware of.
Do the fuel filter while you're in there. Supposed to be done every 60K.
And if a diff seal needed replacement there are shops that specialize in Diffs that could do it for a reasonable price. Had the whole front diff on an ML removed, all bearings replaced and seals, and put back in for $500 labor. This in San Jose, one of the most expensive places.
Just a seal would be much less.
