Aftermarket Radio install problem

Hey guys. I recently bought a new Pioneer headunit from sonixelectronix which came with the dash kit and wiring harness. I removed the old radio (after watching a youtube video) and wired up the Pioneer wires to the dash kit for my w203. I tested the wires and hooked up the headunit and it turned on. I was able to play a CD, listen to the radio, check my xm adapter, and test a phone call. At this stage of my installation I had soldered the wires together but forgot to get heat shrink or tape up the soldered connection. I tried my hardest to keep the wires from touching but did and then I heard a spark and now the head unit is not powering on. I've asked some friends if they knew what could be the problem and I was told it is probably a fuse.
So my question to you amazing Benz enthusiasts is.. has this problem ever happened to you? Do you think its a fuse? If so, where is the fuse located? Thanks for your time

There is typically a fuse in the base of the stereo unit itself. Check that and if that is not the case - check the fuse box under the hood.
