Driving cross country tomorrow- cracked rim today!
Okay, kinda up ***** creek right now cuz no rim repair places are open Sunday in Atlanta, plus it seems the turn around is more than a day.
Question: Rear rim specs are 17" x 8.5" with 5 112mm diameter bolts- does this mean that ANY rim with these specs would fit my 05 c230? I'm thinking maybe just get a cheap used rim from wherever today and have a tire shop put my tire on it and go, go go!!??? What the hell is offset? Damn!
I checked my spare tire, btw, and it says "do not exceed 50mph" so I'm thinking this would be a bad idea???
Maybe I should go to rent-a-wheel. lol.

Wheel hub diameter is 66.6mm, so you need to keep that in mind when looking for a rim.
From my understanding, offsets around 30 should do the trick, however, depending on the spoke profile there might not be enough clearance for the brake caliper. So I'd test fit before buying.
Offset is pretty much how far the surface that mounts to the hub is from the rim center-line.
So the greater the offset, the more the wheel will stick INSIDE the wheel well (i.e. will rub the shock etc).
Must be some serious potholes in GA?
