Please help with diagnostic codes I just pulled
P2005 - Tumble flap short or open circuit in sensor
P2072 - Throttle Valve Jamming iced up
P0300
P0304
P0305
P0306
My local garage is absolutely clueless and I'm dreading taking it to the dealer. I am not a DIY'er, just looking for anyone else who can tell me what this all means and how much I might be looking at in repairs.
If anyone could please shed any light on this for me, I would be forever grateful!! Thanks in advance!!

Anyway, I found this thread, which should be helpful:
Click Me!
That should be helpful on the #300 series, though I do think it's bad news for them all to go out at the same time.
As far as the others, you should be able to find them here as well. Pretty much every code has been discussed here already; one of the "advantages" of a model with questionable electronics.
Is there no happy ground where you live - a MB specialist who has Star diagnostic equipment? If not, I would take it to a dealer for an estimate, as I wouldn't trust a local who has no idea what they're doing with Benzes. You'd probably pay $200-250 for the overall estimate, but with those problems, you may be headed for the "fix it or trash it" dilemma if it's serious.
However, there are zero hits for P2072 on this board, or anywhere else I could find on the internet. Only one other thread here with the P2005 code. I tried Benzworld as well. I think I found a garage that has the STAR equipment.
Seems these are not common codes if I can't seem to find anyone else having the same issues.
I guess I should be worried and that this could be a major issue for me??
Thanks again, much appreciated.
Good luck!
Found a smaller shop that specializes in MB's and MB restoration. They have STAR equipment and will do a diagnostic for me for $29 vs. the stealership's $200 plus.
All the shops around here are swamped w/ the extreme cold weather and snow, but these guys are sneaking me in tomorrow. The tech just called me back to ask me about the codes I found. Said that the P2005 tumble flap code is not a common one to have, and he's rarely seen it. P2072 throttle valve jamming he said was more common in the cold weather. He also told me he isn't going to charge me for a STAR diagnostic at all. Seems legit.
Do you think it's a bad idea for me to drive the car this way?? I only need to go 15 miles to the shop. CEL is not flashing, just stays on. CEL came on yesterday, it went away overnight and came back this morning after the local shop looked at it. They pulled only a random misfire code (P0300) this AM, when the CEL was off. I drove to work and it came back on once I hit the freeway. Stopped at garage again after work and all 6 of those codes were present. Funny thing is that the car seems to be driving OK right now, just took it for a spin around the block.
Talked to another garage who said that the throttle valve could just be stuck from the extreme cold, wind, ice, and snow and it could cause all the other codes to pop.
I'll report back here and let you know what I find out. Thank you again!!
